The Philips Hue Play Gradient 65" is a premium RGB LED light strip designed specifically for TV backlighting. It measures 65 inches and features flowing color-changing effects that sync with on-screen content via the Hue Sync Box (sold separately). The strip offers app control via the Philips Hue app with support for Alexa and Google Home voice commands, plus music-reactive scene modes. It requires both a Hue Bridge and Sync Box for full functionality—a significant barrier to entry. The adhesive is strong and the installation is straightforward for TV mounting. Best suited for living rooms and entertainment setups where backlighting ambiance matters more than wall coverage. Known for reliable performance and accurate color rendering, but the high price and accessory requirements limit its appeal to committed Hue ecosystem users.
